Safe-zone checker for vertical videos

Preview where buttons and captions may cover your video. Load a video or image, mark where your text sits, and see which boxes cross the guide. Your file never leaves your device.

Measured from Google's safe-zone overlay for vertical video ads on YouTube. Organic Shorts show fewer buttons, so this is on the careful side. Placement can vary by device and caption length.

Add a text box where your on-screen text sits to check it against the guide.

How it works

  1. Choose a video or image from your device. It plays here and is never uploaded.
  2. Pick a guide. The YouTube guide is measured from Google's safe-zone overlay for vertical ads; the TikTok and Reels guides are our careful starting points you can adjust.
  3. Add a text box over each piece of on-screen text, then drag it or move it with the arrow keys. Download the frame with the guide to share it.

The guides

  • YouTube Shorts (Google's ad safe zone): top 288px, right 192px, bottom 672px, left 48px. Measured from Google's ad safe zone.
  • TikTok (our conservative guide): top 200px, right 160px, bottom 560px, left 64px. Ours, adjustable.
  • Instagram Reels (our conservative guide): top 260px, right 120px, bottom 640px, left 64px. Ours, adjustable.

Margins on a 1080×1920 frame. The YouTube guide is measured from Google's safe zones for video ads on YouTube (checked 23 October 2026). TikTok publishes its in-feed ad safe zones as downloadable templates whose size depends on caption length, so we don't quote fixed TikTok numbers.

FAQ

Questions

Does it find the text in my video?
No. It checks the boxes you place. Put a box over each caption, title or logo you care about.
Where do the guides come from?
The YouTube guide is measured from Google's safe-zone overlay for vertical video ads on YouTube (checked 23 October 2026). TikTok publishes its ad safe zones as downloadable templates that change with caption length, so the TikTok and Reels guides here are our own conservative starting points. Placement can vary by device and caption length.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The file is opened in your browser and released when you load another file or leave the page.
